Smurfit Kappa Launches Innovative Range of Premium Papers for Packaging

Smurfit Kappa Group plc- Europe’s leading corrugated packaging company has announced launch of innovative new range of premium papers with the aim of maximizing digital printing capabilities. The newly launched Digistar premium papers will help the company to expand its printing solutions portfolio.

The Digistar papers offer more flexibility by allowing companies to use one type of paper for multiple printers. This multi-purpose paper is suitable for both digital and flexographic printers and is compatible with UV and water-based inks, thereby offering more choices to customers. In addition, it offers significant reduction of wastage, easier control of stock and a wealth of benefits to the packaging industry.

Commenting on the launch of the new paper, Lars Henriksson, VP Product Development, Smurfit Kappa Paper Division said that the company has been successful in developing its paper technology at a pace similar to the developments in digital printing. The Digistar premium paper was launched in response to industry’s long-pending need for a premium, multipurpose paper by harnessing its expertise and experience in paper. The company is excited about the launch, Henriksson added.

Earlier during this month, the company had announced a €90 million offer towards purchase of the remaining over 30% stake in Cartón de Colombia S.A., Colombia, of which it currently owns 69.94% share.
